Each school has its own philosophy and manner of educational delivery that supports their community of learners. In my experience, I have found teachers eager to support their students, but lacking the appropriate training in developmental practices and strategies to meet the developmental and behavioral needs of their students. I live in Northern VA with my two teens and rescue pup. I received a BA in Psychology from SUNY Buffalo and an MA in Early Childhood Education from Hood College. I have been an educator for 18 years as a preschool, kindergarten, and first grade teacher working in both the private and public sector. I hold a current dual teacher certification in Virginia for toddlers-3rd grade in both general and special education. Currently, I am an ECSE teacher supporting students in their community preschools and homes. I collaborate with classroom teachers and parents through a method of coaching and modeling strategies and helping to create developmentally appropriate activities that encourage learning and self confidence.
